CWS Walkathon 2018

CWS Walkathon 2018

This annual event brings together the residents of our 3 Nursing Homes, residents of our home for destitute, the beneficiaries of our various social and financial welfare programmes, family members and relatives as well as community volunteers and staff of MOH/MSF agencies, to share a morning of healthy and fun activities. The objective of the event is first and foremost to demonstrate to our poor, aged and underprivileged that the community in Singapore continues to care and want to journey with them.

That regardless of their physical and financial challenges, they should not feel alienated and should continue to remain connected with their fellow Singaporeans; that they are still capable of doing many things as others do, including having fun. In addition to participating in the walkathon, at the event, the aged residents of our homes will also be invited to take a ride on the Singapore Flyer and take part in various fun games.

In conjunction with the event we will also reach out to our regular benefactors some who may wish to support the event with cash donations or in kind. As fund-raising is not the primary objective of the event, the funds raised is not expected to be very significant. We generally hope to raise about $100,000 to help defray the cost of organising the event. Any excess will be added to our general fund which applied to our social and financial assistance programmes.

Registration fee is $50.00 per person. Participants would enjoy the 2km walk, goodie bag, refreshments and a ride on the Flyer.
